Our clear ceramic glass fixed light windows offer large singular panels of clear glass to a maximum size of 2473 mm x 1258mm. The slender yet robust frame section used in this window offers fine lines, maximizing the glass area of the structural opening. A window prototype was tested to AS1530 Part 4 at the CSIRO laboratory in Sydney on 17 December 2001. Photographs below show the test specimen under test and its results. Test Certificate No 1350 has been issued by the CSIRO confirming the prototype achieved a Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of -/240/-.
APLLICATIONS
Suitable for use in both commercial and residential applications where a fixed fire rated window system is required to a maximum of four hours. Typical applications include (but not limited to) boundary walls, stairwells, lightwells, fire escapes, internal patricians, etc. This window emphasis is placed on style and design.
No insulation is provided by this window system. Refer to the Building Code of Australia for appropriate use and local regulation authorities for approval of the system in the specific application.
GLAZING
Glass type is 5mm thick Firelite Ceramic glass, available in clear & frosted.
Glazing (generally internal) is retained by 10 x 20mm solid steel beading screw fixed to the glazing perimeter.
HARDWARE
No hardware is required with fixedlight windows.
FINISHES
4 hours fire rated frames are hot dip galvanized as standard and do not require painting for corrosion protection. However, their appearance is greatly enhanced by special polyurethane paint colours applied on site by appropriate contractors after installation is completed.
INSTALLATION
Generally frames are fixed to masonry openings, however fixing to suitable prepared fire rated openings of differing types can be achieved. Frames are fixed into suitable opening with all metal masonry anchors, where required special galvanized steel brackets are provided to suit either retro fitting into existing brickwork or building in as brickwork is erected.
