Bi-fold doors offer the ability to have large unobstructed openings for access while allowing areas to be closed off when not in use. Sliding track arrangements allow the doors to concertina together at the edge of the opening while hinged doors are held flush to the side wall in the open position.
Available in two, three, four, five and six leaf conformations with various combinations of swing doors & sliding/folding doors. Maximum door height 2400 mm - Maximum recommended overall width 5400 mm.
Bi-fold doors are available in “weathersealed” configuration where doors close onto frame stops or “non-weathersealed” configuration where weatherproofing relies on brush seals at head and sill.
APLLICATIONS
Designed for use where internal areas can be opened up to outdoor entertainment areas. Also, suited to commercial situations such as coffee lounges, bars where large opened door ways entice people to enter.
GLAZING
Frames can be designed to provide internal or external glazing installation. Glass type & thickness determined by Australian Standard AS1288. Maximum glass thickness is 10.38mm. Glass can be retained by face putty, screw on or clip on bead methods.
HARDWARE
Weld on bullet hinges are provided as standard. Concealed flush bolts lock in the folding leaves & a sliding door lock secures swing doors.
FINISHES
Steel door frames are hot dip galvanized as standard and do not require painting for corrosion protection. However, their appearance is greatly enhanced by special polyurethane paint colours applied on site by appropriate contractors after installation is completed.
INSTALLATION
Steel doors are suitable for fixing into all standard construction details. The perimeter section can be varied to suite all masonry and concrete wall construction details. More specialised construction including steel sub-frames can also be accommodated. Mechanical fixing via fixing lugs and dynabolts is most common. Where building construction is suitable dynabolt fixing through the perimeter frame is an option.
