High Security Doors - Fire Rated Security Door Unit
Features
Rivers Fire Rated Doors are designed with inner and outer interlocking steel pan sheets (minimum 1.6mm thick) that fully encapsulate a fire rated door. From a security perspective the steel sheeted door provides greater protection than traditional timber veneered fire doors. The interlocking steel pans ensure that door edges cannot be jimmied open. Fire resistance levels (FRL) of one, two, three or four hours can be provided. For best results the door leaf should be hung on a Rivers 'wrap around' pressed metal door frame with bolt fixing through the fire wall. The use of anti-lift off pins ensure that the door remains attached to the frame even if hinges are removed by would be vandals. Fire doors can be provided in a range of sizes to suit most applications and can be retrofitted to replace existing door sets.
Applications
A Rivers Fire Rated Security Door Unit is suitable to use in any application where the Building Code of Australia dictates a fire rated door and superior security is required for the protection of life and property. A Rivers fire rated security door unit will not only provide the desired fire rating but substantially improve security protection.
Hardware
Standard hardware supplied with a Rivers Fire Rated Door Unit includes heavy duty ball-bearing hinges, anti-lift off pins & door closer. The fitting of a Rivers two or four point locking system is permissible within the terms of Australia Standard AS 1905 Part 1. Accordingly, their use should be referred to local regulatory authorities for approval. Other approved fire door locksets can be fitted to the Rivers Fire Rated Door Unit to maintain compliance with Australian Standards, however, such locksets provide reduced security.
Finishes
Standard finish is one coat of zinc rich primer leaving the door & frame in a ready to paint condition. Special colours are available.
Installation
Fire rated security door units can be built into new walls under construction or can be retrofitted into existing fire walls. If a Rivers lock is specified, it will be factory fitted to the door blade making site installation quicker and easier. Refer to sales staff in relation to installation.
