In 1996 Austral Monsoon Group purchased Lietzke Doors. Originally established in 1966, Lietzke Australia manufactures pre-hung metal door units (consisting of a metal door, press metal door frame and door hardware) for a variety of industrial and commercial applications including prisons, laboratories and transportable and prefabricated buildings. The company also offers a range of embossed panel products.
Pre-hung metal door units provide substantial benefits in many building situations. They provide superior security and durability to traditional timber doors. They radically reduce site installation time and the need for the coordination of building trades. High quality factory finishes are provided with no additional site finishing required. In some industries pre-hung metal door units have become the standard. Lietzke Doors have pioneered this development.
In 1999, Lietzke purchased and absorbed Petherick Doors into its operations. Petherick is a manufacturer of wooden doors situated in South Australia and servicing the SA/WA/NT regions. While it retains its separate business identity, all aspects of the production, marketing, selling and administration are now part of Lietzke's operations.
