Ventilation Equipment - Western Ridgepak Ventilator
Features
Western Ventilation Equipment has been manufacturing the Ridgepak ventilator for over fifty years. The Ridgepak design has been employed on buildings in areas affected by tropical rain and winds in northern Australia and South East Asia, in southern areas of winter drizzles and has proven its ability to resist weather entering enclosures in a variety of conditions all around the world. The Ridgepak range varies from the smallest RP225 to the largest RP600. Each size includes the high performance feature of the unique tapered throat. This efficient outlet results in a higher value of what is called the discharge coefficient (Cd), making it the best performing ridgevent in each size category.
Applications
The Ridgepak can be installed wherever fresh air is required. They are used for factories and warehouses, mining structures that house critical operations including Aluminium Smelters, Hot-roll steel buildings and other structures of all descriptions.
Standard options include the application of dampers, so the Western Ridgepak is perfect for schools, multipurpose halls or buildings which often have winter heating, or if you want to trap the natural sunlight entering from skylights. The dampers allow for the Ridgepak to be closed off in the winter time to keep heat in, reducing heating costs and increasing comfort. So for your next project, specify and install a ridge ventilator that not only allows for large outlet free area, but will give you and your building what you really need – proven ventilation performance!
Options
Modules are standard 3.6m long (can be 3.0, 2.4, 1.8)
Throat mounted dampers: controls include the most common electric actuator control. Manual may also be feasible.
Fully assembled modules or unassembled knock-down form for economical transport.
RPCYC models for high wind area applications (consult Western for further information).
Notes
Roof sheeting and steelwork are supplied by others, as are roof fasteners typically so.
Keep the area directly below the ventilator throat free from obstructions, especially with dampers.
Actuators are supplied and mounted internally to the end plates to open and close the damper blades. Electrical power and all other electrical controls and materials are typically supplied by others.
Typical Specification
Ventilators shall be Western Ridgepak Type RP***, as supplied by Western Ventilation Equipment. Ventilators shall be of length, material and finish as indicated on the drawings and associated specifications. The ventilator shall comprise of 3.6 (optional) meter long modules and include dampers, damper controls and birdwire as specified.
